The Kitchen Workshop is a family-friendly buffet restaurant at Crown. The prices are cheaper than the Conservatory which is also located at Crown so you don’t expect expensive seafood. However when you pay for the buffet (we paid $35 each) you are given a card that entitles you to either 300g prawns or half a dozen oysters. I chose the prawns. Not really having any idea how many prawns that meant I was at first pleasantly surprised at how many I got. However trying to eat them was quite hard because I had to clean and peel each one before eating it. I’m sure you can imagine how messy that was. They were delicious though.
I must say, the staff were very efficient at cleaning up. It became a bit of a joke in the end because our table was cleared every time we went to get more food. Towards the end they even took our wine glasses away that still had wine in them. They were very apologetic when they realised we had only got up to get dessert. They gave us a free glass of wine each so it wasn’t all bad news.
They have different stations set up around the room. There is a teppanyaki station, savoury, seafood and the dessert station. The desserts looked really nice but weren’t of the sort I like to eat. Which was good because I was quite full from all the food I’d eaten.
